Medical Imaging Northwest receives 2010 Better Workplace Award for innovation and commitment to employees Show DetailsHide Details
Feb 25, 2010

Lakewood — The Association of Washington Business recognizes Medical Imaging Northwest among the 18 businesses and non-profit organizations for outstanding commitment to their employees.
The awards, presented during AWB’s annual Legislative Day in Olympia, were given to employers of all sizes and industries throughout the state for their superior commitment to workplace safety, job training and advancement, and innovative benefit and compensation programs.
“The winners of this year’s awards represent the best of Washington’s business community,” said AWB President Don Brunell. “These are perfect of examples of the kind of innovation and forward-thinking that’s needed to attract the best workers to our state. Building a strong, talented workforce is one of the most important things we can do to help Washington emerge strong from the recent downturn.”
“Congratulations to all this year’s Better Workplace recipients. Your efforts are the kind of efforts we should implement across state government,” said Attorney General Rob McKenna, who served AWB’s keynote luncheon speaker. “Improvements in worker safety not only protect your workforce but they save money in the long-run,” he said. “The training and advancement programs recognized demonstrate that investments in staff pay great dividends. And the innovative benefit and compensation programs honored today reflect the tremendous flexibility and commitment Washington’s businesses provide to their teams.”
The Better Workplace Awards program is open to all AWB members. An independent panel of judges reviews all the nominees and evaluates the programs based on a variety of criteria, including their impact on employee morale, increases in worker productivity, improvements in recruitment and retention and reductions in the cost of worker training. AWB also gives Continuous Commitment awards to companies that have previously won the Better Workplace Award and have continued to be innovators in their efforts to improve the employee work environment.

New Imaging Alliance for East Pierce County Show DetailsHide Details
Jun 1, 2008
MultiCare-Good Samaritan and Medical Imaging Northwest Grow Together
Puyallup WA, Ease for Hospital patients who need imaging services. That's the real reason behind a new equity joint venture between MultiCare-Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Imaging Northwest. "By pooling the resources of these two institutions, patients will have better access to the wide array of imaging services in areas convenient to them," explains John Long, President of MultiCare-Good Samaritan Hospital. The name of this new venture will be Diagnostic Imaging Northwest, an alliance of Medical Imaging Northwest and MultiCare-Good Samaritan Hospital.
"Puyallup and surrounding East Pierce County is not the sleepy little farming communities they were when I first came to this area 25 years ago," says Andrew Levine, MD, Chair, Medical Imaging Nortwest, LLP. "Neither is Good Samaritan Hospital."
As the community has evolved, so has the medical staff, with an increasing array of specialty and subspecialty clinicians. The growth has allowed residents to say close to home to have their medical needs met. This will be further enhanced with the upcoming building of the MultiCare-Good Samaritan Patient Care Tower, already in progress across the street from the current Good Samaritan Hospital.
It is this growth that inspired MultiCare-Good Samaritan to contact Medical Imaging Northwest 18-months ago about providing more collaborative imaging services to the residents of East Pierce County.
Beginning in October 2008, Medical Imaging Northwest and MultiCare-Good Samaritan will operate imaging facilities at multiple locations in East Pierce County, including downtown Puyallup at Puyallup Imaging Center, South Hill at Sunrise Imaging Center and Bonney Lake at Bonney Lake Imaging Center.
The services this new joint venture will provide include 3 fully digital centers that house High-Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Radiography and Fluoroscopy, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Ultrasound Guided Biopsy and Bone Densitometry.

Computed Radiography (CR) at Puyallup Imaging Center Show DetailsHide Details
Nov 1, 2006
Monday, November 20, 2006, Puyallup Imaging Center, located at 222 15th Ave. SE, in Puyallup, converted their X-ray equipment to Computerized Radiography (CR) for all General X-ray exams.
Approximately 60 to 70% of all radiology procedures are diagnostic screen-film X-ray exams. The ability to convert these exams into a digital format and store them in a PACS system results in increased efficiencies and streamlined workflow. Any move to digital can positively impact operations, helping to maximize productivity and patient throughput.
Now our referring providers will be able to view reports and images in the comfort of their own offices and at home, if needed. We can easily provide a CD of the patient's exam by request. Providers are now able to receive General X-ray that can be used on their office PC or transferred to a PowerPoint presentation that can be used at a conference, a patient consultation or in their patient's chartnotes.
Medical Imaging Northwest owns and operates two outpatient imaging centers: Puyallup Imaging Center at 222 15th Ave. SE and Sunrise Imaging Center at the Sunrise Campus, South Hill in Puyallup. We provide professional services for the radiology departments of Good Samaritan Hospital, Puyallup and Allenmore Hospital, Tacoma. We also serve MultiCare Clinics in Auburn, Covington and Tacoma.
